Environmental policy

graphic Impressions are a Lithographic and Digital Printing Company pledged to play a practical role in protecting the environment for future generations. We accept that waste is an inevitable by-product from industry but believe that by proper disposal within the confines of our planet is a major factor in determining the quality and sustainability of our environment.

We believe the ‘discard at will’ activities of previous generations is not now sustainable and seek to develop our expertise in the managed collection and refuse of valuable raw materials.

In this way we hope to help the environmental cause by:

Reducing the amount of waste going to landfill or for incineration.

• Conserving finite resources.

• Promoting environmentally-friendly waste disposal.

Our Commitment

At the core of our company’s commitment is the provision of environmentally-sound and operationally-safe waste management. To this end Graphic impressions will seek to:

• Invest in a programme of on-going training to ensure that all staff are familiar with all relevant waste disposal processes, procedures and legislation and are aware of the environmental significance of what they do.

• Reduce the amount and range of waste recycled by the company.

• Improve environmental awareness and performance throughout the company by providing advice, guidance and practical assistance to customers seeking to ‘green’ their waste management procedures.

All staff have a role to play in helping Graphic impressions work towards achieving this policy, and this policy will be made available to all members of staff, and to anybody who requests a copy.

It's Your Environment too!

The printing industry is said to be responsible for around 10% of volatile organic compound emissions.

Gradually, companies are realising the significance of this impact and as a consequence, they are adopting more sustainable procedures, using chemical free printing units, reducing the amount of alcohol used in print production and buying vegetable oil based inks.

You can help the environment by:

• Opting for recycled or semi-recycled paper (FSC)

• Requesting a PDF proof rather than a digital copy

• Ensuring none of your print goes to waste

• Recycling any unwanted material
